Life Story
Summary
Born in the heart of Ibadan, Omotayo Johnson grew up with a radiant spirit and a thirst for learning. From a young age, she displayed an uncanny ability to comfort and encourage others — qualities that defined her entire life.
After earning her degree in Education at the University of Lagos, she became a beloved teacher for over 35 years. Her classroom was a sanctuary for curiosity and confidence, and generations of students still recall her kind words and her faith in their potential.
Outside the classroom, Tayo was the backbone of her church choir and a community counselor for widows and young mothers. Her faith, humility, and laughter drew people from every walk of life.
Omotayo lived for her family — her husband Adewale, their three children, and five grandchildren. To the end, she embodied her favorite saying: “To serve is to live.”
